Paediatric Consulting

Services

As a general paediatrician Dr De sees children from infancy up to 16 years of age. She oversees the evaluation and management of childhood medical conditions, concerns in relation to infant feeding/weight gain, behavioural/developmental concerns of pre/primary school years, developmental disorders, language disorder and learning difficulties.

Dr De has a special interest in management of problems relating to paediatric bowel-bladder dysfunction and incontinence including bedwetting (enuresis), day time urinary incontinence, constipation and faecal incontinence.

Dr. De's Approach

Dr. De believes in a collaborative team approach that involves the child, their family, where necessary the school, the referring doctor, allied health professionals (speech/occupational therapist/psychologist) and other specialists involved in the care of the child.

Children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, language disorders or learning difficulties (and quite often a combination of one or more of these) thrive when they are in a supported environment at home and school with well informed parents/carers and educators.

Children with problems relating to bowel bladder dysfunction/incontinence too require a supported home and school environment with a structured toileting routine.  Identifying those support needs in a timely manner requires regular communication among parents, therapists and the teachers that are involved in the care of the child.
